Version 4.8.1 – Routes with or without DRCT

We’re excited to announce the release of XPFlightPlanner 4.8.1! This update brings enhanced flexibility to route representation, specifically focusing on direct routing segments.

This feature has been requested by many user to give more control over how direct routes are displayed in flight plans and exported. With version 4.8.1, we’re introducing optional DCT/DRCT syntax support for direct routing between waypoints when no airways are used.

What’s new 🚀:

• Users now have the choice to represent direct routings in two formats:
• Traditional format: KINES DCT TULSA U725 KONDO
• Simplified format: KINES TULSA U725 KONDO

This flexibility ensures better compatibility with various flight planning systems while maintaining the accuracy and precision you expect from XPFlightPlanner. The option to use simplified format makes route strings more concise and easier to read, particularly useful for routes with multiple direct segments.

Find this setting in the X-Plane tab from the Preferences dialog. To open this dialog please browse the Edit menu.
