How to export flight plan to IVAO?

In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to generate a pre-fill link in order to export a flight plan to IVAO network with XPFlightPlanner. Follow these steps to ensure a smooth flight planning and export process.

Step 1: Generate the flight plan

  1. Set departure and destination airports: Add Seattle airport (KSEA) as your departure and San-Francisco airport (KSFO) as your destination. You can do this directly in the “Route Generator” or either the “Points“ side panel or simply by right-clicking the map.
  2. Choose your aircraft: Select the Airbus A321Neo as your aircraft as instance.
  3. Generate the route: Open the “Route Generator” dialog by clicking the generator button  or by navigating to the “Route” menu and selecting “Generator”. The generator dialog will preset the departure and arrival airports if previously set, and the best SID and STAR to shorten the flight distance.
  4. Adjust flight parameters: Choose the cruise altitude and speed preferences for your flight. As instance, you might choose a cruise level of FL350 and True Air-Speed (TAS) at 450kts.
  5. Generate and review: Click on “Generate” to start the route finder. The generated flight plan will look like this: KSEA – SID – Waypoints – STAR – KSFO.

Step 2: Pre-fill the flight plan into IVAO

  1. Open the export menu: In the menu navigate to “File“ and select “Export flight plan to network”
  2. Select IVAO format: Choose “IVAO” from the export options.
  3. Automatic upload: The flight plan will be automatically pre-filled into IVAO in a new browser window at address https://fpl.ivao.aero

Step 3: Verify and adjust

  1. Review your route: Review the prefilled flight plan to ensure all details are correct before starting your flight with IVAO.
  2. Make the necessary adjustments: Proceed to last-minute adjustments to your flight plan directly in IVAO, if needed.

You are now able to generate flight plans using XPFlightPlanner like a pro, and export them seamlessly to IVAO network. Happy flight simming!
