How to import flight plans into Garmin G1000?

Importing a flight plan into the Garmin G1000 is a simple and efficient process once you know the steps. Follow this step-by-step guide to load your flight plan and get ready to fly!

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Press the FPL Button
    • Start by pressing the FPL button on the MFD (Multi-Function Display) to navigate to the Flight Plan page group.
  2. Toggle the Cursor Off (If Needed)
    • If the flashing blue cursor is on, press the center of the FMS knob to turn it off. This will allow you to rotate through the flight plan options more easily.
  3. Go to Page 2 of the Flight Plan Group
    • Rotate the small inner FMS knob one click to the right. This will display Page 2, where you’ll see a list of available flight plans in your “FMS plans” folder.
  4. Toggle the Cursor Back On
    • Press the center of the FMS knob again to toggle the blue cursor back on. This will allow you to select the desired flight plan.
  5. Highlight Your Flight Plan
    • Use the inner FMS knob to scroll through and highlight the flight plan you want to load.
  6. Activate the Flight Plan
    • Once your flight plan is highlighted, press the ENT button on the MFD to select it. A confirmation dialogue box may appear asking whether you want to Activate or Edit the plan.
